This is a small site run by one person. I'm Kat Moore, and wavehappy.art is my business: a place to share Sicily, sell a few digital guides, book stays at Lula Mare, and occasionally work with brands. I don't sell your data, I don't run ads that track you, and I've tried to write this page the way I'd actually explain it to a friend. If anything here is unclear, email me at kat@wavehappy.art and I'll sort it out.
Newsletter signup
When you sign up for the newsletter, whether from the homepage or another page on the site, I collect your email address, your name if you give it, and where the signup came from. Signing up is the consent, there's no separate confirmation step. That information lives in the database (Supabase), and the emails themselves go out through Postmark. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and it works immediately, no waiting, no guilt trip.
The Starter Guide
Downloading the Starter Guide at /guide asks for your email and, optionally, your name. That enrolls you in a short welcome series, a handful of emails, not a drip campaign that never ends. You can unsubscribe from that too.
Brand partnership chat
The chat at /media/chat is for brands reaching out about partnerships. It collects the brand name, a contact name and email, what you're looking for, and the messages you send in the conversation. Those messages, along with the context of your inquiry, are sent to OpenAI so it can generate a response. The details of your inquiry are also emailed directly to me, because a real brand deal eventually needs a real person, not a chatbot.
Digital download purchases
Payment for guides and other downloads is handled entirely by Stripe. Your card details never touch my servers, I never see them and never store them. Stripe passes me your email and name so I can deliver the download and keep an order record.
Lula Mare bookings
You can browse dates for Lula Mare on the site, but the actual booking, your name, email, and payment, happens on Octorate, my property manager's booking system. If the waitlist form is in use instead, it collects your name, email, preferred dates, group size, and any note you add.
Consulting bookings
Consulting appointments are scheduled through Cal.com's embedded scheduler. I receive your name, email, time zone, and the booking details, enough to manage the appointment and send you a reminder.
Analytics
Site analytics are first-party, meaning I built them, they live here, and no third party sees your visit. I log the page you viewed, the referrer, your device type, the traffic source, and your country, which the host derives from your IP address. The IP address itself isn't stored in the database. There are no advertising pixels, no Google Analytics, and nothing that tracks you across other sites.
Cookies
The only cookies on this site are functional: they keep you logged in so you can access a guide you've purchased, or keep an admin session going. Nothing advertising-related, nothing analytics-related, which is why there's no cookie banner. There's nothing here that requires one.
Who else sees your data
I use a handful of outside services to run this site, and each one only sees what it needs to do its job: Supabase for the database, Postmark for email, Stripe for payments, OpenAI for the brand chat, Cal.com for scheduling, Octorate for Lula Mare bookings, and Vercel for hosting. None of them have permission to use your information for anything beyond helping run wavehappy.art.
Your rights
You can ask me what I have on you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. You can unsubscribe from any email at any time. If you're in the EU, the same rights under GDPR apply here, not as a formality but because they're reasonable. Email kat@wavehappy.art and I'll handle it myself.
How long I keep it
I keep your information for as long as you have an active relationship with the site, a subscription, a booking, an order, or as long as I need it for tax and order records after that.
Changes to this page
If this policy changes in any meaningful way, I'll update the date at the top. There's no fine print hiding underneath it.
